My first quadcopter build, using brushed motors with a 9inch prop, a custom made ESC to drive them and a salvaged basic flight controller running Betaflight. Focus was on robust 3d printable frame design and on ESC efficiency.
Ran FEA analysis to determine the best strength to weight arm construciton, instead of going for a fully 3d printed option, a hybrid PETG - Aluminium Rod was selected for its superior bending moment resistance and lower weight.
A speedybeeF405 v4 flight controller was selected and a custom MOSFET pwm ESC was made to drive the brushed motors. For radio control ELRS CRSF was selected with a suitable transmitter receiver pairing. Setup also featured a GNSS sensor.
